| Overview
Polyethylene cast film is a plastic film that is made by melting and extruding polyethylene resin onto a cast sheet or cold roll. It is a very versatile packaging material that can be used in a wide range of applications such as food packaging, medical packaging, industrial packaging and agricultural packaging. It is also partly used as sanitary napkin making.
The small packaging film of sanitary pads is a film used to wrap individual sanitary pads, serving the functions of protecting the product and facilitating carrying and use.
Material: Common types include PE small packaging film, SMS non-woven small packaging film, and composite non-woven small packaging film. Among them, PE small packaging film is a non-breathable printed film made from polyethylene resin as the main raw material through a casting process; SMS non-woven small packaging film is a composite product of spunbond and meltblown, using PP masterbatch as the raw material; composite non-woven small packaging film is generally a composite of non-woven fabric and PE film.
Structure: It generally includes a sanitary pad body, a back release paper, and a small packaging film that are sequentially laminated and bonded from top to bottom. One end of the small packaging film is equipped with an easy-to-tear sticker for convenient opening of the package, and the other end may be provided with an inner release paper to cover the upper surface of the sanitary pad body. Some small packaging films are divided into upper, middle, and lower layers according to their folded positions, and each layer is connected by a fold and packaging adhesive.
Function: Its main role is to protect the sanitary pad body from external contamination before use. Meanwhile, for some sanitary pads with added volatile ingredients such as fragrance or mint, the small packaging film also needs to have high barrier properties to prevent the volatilization of odors. In addition, the design of the small packaging film makes it easy for users to carry individual sanitary pads in their bags, maintaining the cleanliness and privacy of personal hygiene products.

The Russian diaper market, valued at approximately $650 million in 2024, is undergoing a profound transformation driven by geopolitical factors and Western sanctions. Previously dominated by international brands like Huggies and Pampers which held a 70% market share, the exit and scale-back of these companies created a significant market vacuum. This gap has been predominantly filled by Chinese enterprises, with companies like Shubao International capturing a remarkable 39.6% market share by 2024 through contract manufacturing. Consequently, the market's import dependency has shifted, with 50% of all diaper imports now coming from China.
