This PE film is the backsheet layer for disposable nursing pads, underpads and incontinence pads. It stops liquid at the bottom layer, keeps the pad soft against skin, and runs cleanly on high-speed converting lines.
We supply waterproof, breathable, laminated and printed PE backsheet film, custom slit to your machine width. Send your thickness, width and monthly volume — we quote within 24 hours on working days.
The film sits under the absorbent core and acts as the liquid barrier. It is laminated with nonwoven, tissue or the absorbent layer, so the quality that matters most is not the film alone but how it unwinds, seals and laminates on your line.
Common use cases: adult incontinence underpads, hospital and home care pads, baby changing pads, pet training pads, disposable nursing pads and medical care sheets. It also works in multi-layer structures with SAP, fluff pulp and nonwoven.

Final specs are confirmed with our sales team before order.
Most buyers start from the end product, not the film. Use this table to narrow down, then confirm thickness and width against your machine.
End product | Recommended film | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
Standard nursing pads / underpads | Waterproof PE backsheet | Barrier reliability, seal strength |
Premium incontinence pads | Breathable PE film | WVTR vs waterproof balance, softness |
Pads needing extra softness | Laminated PE film | Nonwoven bond strength, hand feel |
Retail / branded packs | Printed PE film | Print registration, color consistency |
Pet training pads | Waterproof PE, thinner gauge | Cost per pad, tear resistance |
Thickness tolerance ±5% on standard film, ±7% on breathable. Every roll is gauged; out-of-tolerance rolls are held before shipment, not after your line rejects.
Max slit width 2,000 mm, 5 lines. That covers most pad converting widths without splicing mid-run.
Lead time about 30 days for standard specs; printed and laminated film runs longer, usually 37 days including first-run artwork or sample confirmation.
Batch traceability. Each roll carries batch number, thickness and width, so a converting issue can be traced to one production run.
Honest limits: breathable film below 12 µm is hard to run at high speed without pinholes — we will tell you if your spec is not realistic instead of shipping and letting you find out.
We adjust the film to your line, not the other way round:
Thickness and width matched to pad size, machine speed and lamination process
Waterproof or breathable grade, chosen by product positioning
Smooth, embossed or laminated surface
Custom color and print for brand differentiation
Roll diameter, core size and roll weight set to your unwinder
Export-standard inner wrap and outer packaging
MOQ from 1,000 kg. Standard lead time is about 30 days; printed and laminated orders need artwork or sample confirmation before production, so plan roughly 7 extra days for the first run.
Inspection covers thickness uniformity, surface cleanliness, roll neatness and lamination stability. Samples are available before bulk orders so you can test on your own line — we would rather you reject a sample than a container.
What is PE film used for in nursing pads?
It is the backsheet layer. It prevents liquid leaking through the pad and gives the product a protective bottom layer.
Waterproof or breathable — which should I choose?
Waterproof film is the lower-cost, reliable barrier for standard pads. Breathable film lets moisture vapor escape while staying waterproof, which suits premium incontinence and long-wear care pads. Breathable costs more and needs a stable lamination process.
Can you match my existing film spec?
Yes. Send a sample or the thickness, width, color and hand-feel requirement, and we will confirm whether we can match it and what the minimum run is.
What certificates can you provide?
TDS is available for every product. If you need other certificates for your market, contact us and we will discuss what can be arranged.
What is your MOQ and lead time?
MOQ from 1,000 kg; lead time about 30 days for standard specs, longer for printed or laminated film.
What do you need for a quotation?
Film type, thickness, width, roll length or weight, breathability and printing requirements, estimated monthly quantity, and destination port.
Do you offer samples?
Yes, for quality evaluation on your own line. Contact sales for sample size and shipping arrangements.
Send your spec and we will reply within 24 hours on working days with price, MOQ and lead time.

A renewable ingredient offers little manufacturing value if the diaper bond fails or production waste rises. Transitioning to Bio-Based Adhesives requires a plan connecting material evidence, bonding performance, and production efficiency. The strongest strategy qualifies the adhesive, measures the finished product, and scales only after defined requirements are met.
Two super absorbent polymers may show similar absorption capacity but perform differently inside a baby diaper. Pressure and repeated wetting can expose these differences. Baby Diaper SAP works alongside fluff pulp and liquid distribution materials to manage moisture. Poor SAP selection can cause leakage, surface rewet, slow absorption, and unstable absorbent cores. Manufacturers must evaluate more than maximum absorption capacity. They need to understand how SAP properties affect diaper performance and production costs. Key factors include liquid retention, absorption under pressure, particle characteristics, and core compatibility. Production testing and supplier quality checks also help manufacturers select suitable materials.
A nursing pad can absorb plenty of liquid yet still leave skin feeling wet. The problem often comes from how its materials work together. Disposable nursing pads combine several layers to absorb breast milk and protect clothing. These include Nursing Pad Nonwoven topsheets, tissue paper, SAP absorbent cores, PE backsheets, and construction adhesives. Each material affects liquid transfer, moisture retention, softness, leakage resistance, and pad thickness. Manufacturers must balance these properties to achieve consistent performance. Understanding each layer's function helps manufacturers select suitable materials and avoid common production problems. The following sections explain how these materials improve absorption, comfort, and protection.
