Lonsun 25gsm white ADL is a hot-air-through nonwoven placed between the topsheet and the absorbent core of a sanitary napkin. It is an ideal raw material for sanitary napkins, helping liquid pass quickly through the surface and spread evenly into the core.

How ADL works in sanitary napkins

Menstrual blood first reaches the surface layer of the sanitary napkin and passes downward. The ADL then takes up this liquid. Part of it is absorbed directly by the SAP core along the gaps, and the rest travels along the length of the ADL, so a wider area of the SAP core is used. The blood that has spread along the ADL then passes down and is absorbed evenly by the core.

ADL Function

The main job of the ADL is to guide menstrual blood coming through the surface layer and spread it along the length of the napkin, so the core absorbs it more evenly. This keeps the core from thickening at one spot, which would otherwise block later liquid from being absorbed.

Why ADL Matters in Sanitary Napkins

The ADL fibers are mostly laid in the machine direction. Menstrual blood entering the ADL is taken up by the fiber network, held briefly, and then carried along the fibers to the core. This keeps liquid from blocking at one point on the core and from flowing back to the surface.

• Faster longitudinal absorption helps prevent side leakage.

• Liquid is spread over a wider area, so the core is used more fully.

• Absorption is more even, with less saturation at one spot and less flow-back to the skin.

• The napkin can be made thinner, and SAP dosage can be reduced while keeping the same dryness.
