SSS nonwoven laminated with PE film, also called clothlike PE film, is a backsheet material used in the manufacture of baby and adult diapers. It is designed to mimic the texture of cloth, providing a soft, comfortable feel against the skin. The material is typically made of SSS nonwoven material laminated with PE film, which enhances its properties and makes it ideal for use as a diaper backsheet.
Material: Made from polyethylene (PE) and spunbond nonwoven.
Usage: Primarily used in baby and adult diapers to prevent liquid leakage while allowing moisture vapor to escape, thus enhancing user comfort.
Transparency: Often translucent.
Moisture Proof: While it allows moisture vapor to pass through, it prevents liquid from penetrating, ensuring that the outer layer of the diaper remains dry.
Physical Properties: Offers high air permeability, tensile strength, and water pressure resistance, making it durable and reliable for use in hygiene products.
The following data is from our latest laminated PE film test report:
| Test Item | Standard / Spec | Typical Value | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grammage | 26 ± 1.5 g/m² | 26.1 g/m² | Qualified |
| Width | 310 ± 2 mm | 310 mm | Qualified |
| Air Permeability (MVTR) | 1800–3200 g/24h/m² | 2598 g/24h/m² | Qualified |
| Tensile Strength at Break – MD | ≥ 9 N | 24.65 N | Qualified |
| Tensile Strength at Break – CD | ≥ 5 N | 6.22 N | Qualified |
| Elongation at Break – MD | ≥ 80% | 82% | Qualified |
| Elongation at Break – CD | ≥ 100% | 115% | Qualified |
| Corona Treatment | ≥ 38 dyne | 38 dyne | Qualified |
| Peel Strength | ≥ 0.7 N | 1.5 N | Qualified |
Note: Values above are typical test data for the 26g/m² × 310mm specification. Custom grammage and width are available upon request. Odor, appearance and color are inspected per batch. Full test report can be provided.
The breathable bottom film (breathable backsheet) works on a simple formula: inorganic + stretching = micropores. In practice, the process is very particular — only micropores of the right size and evenly distributed are effective.
When the concentration of water vapor on one side of the film is greater than that of the environment on the other side, a humidity gradient pressure difference is formed. This provides the basic condition for gas (vapor) convection, and due to this convection, the humidity environments on both sides of the film tend to reach a relative balance. This is the basic principle behind the operation of the breathable bottom film.
In addition to being breathable, the breathable bottom film also acts as a water barrier film with a blocking effect on liquids. Because of the many pathways present in the film, the tortuous channels they form have a large “aspect ratio” (L/D) value, which can be understood as capillaries. Therefore, in the same liquid (such as water) and under the same pressure, as long as the height of the liquid column in the capillary is less than the length of the capillary, the liquid is ensured not to leak out; otherwise, it will leak.
We often say that the breathable bottom film of a diaper is the outermost layer with a pattern. On the one hand, it prevents the baby's urine from penetrating to the outside; on the other hand, it has good breathability, plays a role in releasing stuffiness, and helps prevent the occurrence of baby diaper rash.
Baby Diapers: Provides comfort and prevents skin irritation by allowing moisture vapor to escape.
Adult Diapers: Offers similar benefits as in baby diapers, ensuring comfort and hygiene for adult users.
Other Hygiene Products: Can be used in underpads and sanitary napkins where breathability and moisture control are essential.
MOQ: 1000 kg.
Customization (OEM/ODM): Grammage, width, color, pattern and lamination can be customized to your diaper design.
Samples: A4 sample is available; freight to be confirmed.
Quality Documents: Full test report (as shown above) and batch inspection records can be provided.
Lead Time: 15~30 working days.
Packaging: Standard export packing, or customized per your requirement.

“Certified” is an incomplete purchasing specification. A certificate might describe a company’s management system, a test report might describe one sample, and a regulatory status might apply only to a particular finished product and intended use.
A roll can arrive on time and still be unusable if its edges are crushed, its wrap is punctured or its dimensions no longer suit the converting line. Bulky hygiene materials also consume freight space that a weight-only purchasing comparison misses.
A low quotation can become expensive when rolls break on the line, a substitute material changes fit, or documentation cannot be matched to a shipment.
